• Oita Station

  Start from Oita Station, the center of Oita Prefecture. There are quite a lot of traffic so please drive carefully.
• Nishi Oita (Kantan Beach)

  A calm and peaceful harbor along the road. There are lots of cafe and restrants, such as the Kamome no Jonathan (restaurant) and BAKE SHOP by the bay (cupcake shop). Take a break on the bench installed in the port. From here, there is a bicycle-only road along the coastline to Beppu city.
• Beppu station square street

  Passing throught Umitamago(aqualium) and Mt.Takasaki (watch out the monkeys!), You will gradually arraive at Beppu, a town of hot springs. There are eight types of Onsen within Beppu city a.k.a "Beppu Hatto", and there are many public hot spring, such as Takegawara hot springs and Beppu ekimae hot springs. Also, There are lots of souvenir shops, coffee stands and restaurants, so it's a lively station street that anyone can enjoy anytime.
• Kyushu crossing road

  There are many restaurants and amazing view spots on this large road that runs from Beppu Port to Kannawa area. Although it is a steep slope, you can enjouy the scenery of Beppu Bay and the magnificent view of the Haruki River and Mt. Ougi-yama. The popular sushi restaurant Kamesho, the teahouse where you can enjoy local dishes from Oita, and the famous Jigoku Steaming Experience Workshop are also located along this road.
• Yukemuri(Hot Spring Steam) Lookout

  A hot spring steam that rises from the hot spring town, which is the symbol of Beppu city. its a little bit dfficult to acsess here because they only shows a small signboad. we recommend the morning and evening hours.
• Kannawa area

  Kannawa area where many Jimo Sen (local hot spring where you can enjoy only 100 yen) gather. Souvenir shops, cafes, and Ryokan gather here so recomended to sightseeing.
• Myoban area sightseeing

  Further up the Kyushu Oudan road to the Myoban area with a unique sulfur scent. Be careful as some roads are narrow or unpaved. please try an boiled egg with hot spring.
• Jumonjibaru Observatory

  Beppu's superb view area that is not known except. It is a scenic spot where you can see from Beppu city to Oita city, Kunisaki city, and even Shikoku area on a sunny day. Parking lot and public restrooms are available.
• Tsukahara Onsen and Nosen

  If you follow the mountain path, you will arrive at Tsukahara Onsen, which is said to be the source of Beppu Onsen. The hot spring here is one of Japan's top three drugs and is a very rare hot spring with strong acidity. There is a charge, but you can also visit the crater.
• Yufuin

  If you go further in nature, you will arrive at Yufuin, a famous tourist spot in Oita. Because Oita is rich in nature, deer often appear along the way. Please drive carefully. There are few parking lots and bicycle parking lots at Yufuin, so let's stop at Yufuin station or in a paid bicycle parking space at the inn.
• Yufudake Trailhead

  If you go up the famous "Yamanami Highway", you can enjoy many beautiful scenery. * The road up to this point will continue to have steep slopes and sharp curves, so please proceed while checking your physical condition.
• Run in the Tsukahara area

  There is a little-known route from Yufuin to Beppu. Many cars and motorbikes pass through the Yufudake mountain trail and continue toward the Kijima Plateau, but then return to Tsukahara. This route is recommended because it has less traffic and is safe.
• APU front passage-Kamegawa-Line 10-Beppu Station

  If you come to Beppu, please try staying at a hot spring inn. There are many hotels and inns along Beppu Bay, and there are also many staff who can speak foreign languages. Unfortunately there are few hotels that can stop the road bike.
