• Asama / Shirane / Shiga Sawayaka Highway

  "Asama / Shirane / Shiga Sawayaka Highway" will be the first scenic highway registered in Kanto among "Japanese landscape highways". Starting from Karuizawa, the highway runs through Asama Kogen and Kusatsu Onsen to the Shiga Kogen, which is a mountain road with a total length of about 200 km. The recommended season for cycling is the early summer fresh green season and the autumn foliage season. Please note that the section from Kusatsu Onsen to Shiga Kogen during a heavy snowfall area is closed in winter, so please be careful when going out.
• Yumi pond

  The volcanic lake at the foot of Mt. Shirane has a beautiful contrast between the mountains and clouds reflected on the water. There are wooden roads around and you can enjoy a walk. The area is also a wetland where you can see plants such as cotton grass and sundew grass and spot-billed ducks.
• Yugama

  It is a crater lake with a diameter of 300 m and a water depth of 30 m, which is located at Shirane summit at an altitude of about 2000 meters. Mt. Yugama is one of the world's most emerald green volcanic lakes with strong acidity and can be seen from a nearby observation deck. Also, Kusatsu-Shirane, where Yugama is located, is an active volcano and may be subject to mountaineering restrictions, so please check the information before you actually visit.
• Shibutoge

  "Shibutoge" is located at the prefectural border between Gunma prefecture and Nagano prefecture, which boasts an altitude of 2172 m. It is a scenic spot that represents the magnificent view of "Asama / Shirane / Shiga refreshing highway". You can enjoy the seasonal nature such as fresh greenery and autumn leaves, and you can even see the "Sea of Clouds" depending on the weather conditions. It is a recommended spot to visit.
• Yokoteyama Drive-in

  It is one of the few restaurants on the Kusatsu-Shiga Kogen route near Shibutoge. The View Restaurant on the 2nd floor has various kinds of menu, so we recommend that you enjoy your meal while enjoying the view from the window. In addition to that, the soft ice cream called Kuma bamboo soft, which is similar to matcha flavor, is also popular, so please try it.
• Shiga Kogen

  It is a representative resort area of Nagano located in the eastern part of Nagano prefecture. The altitude of this area is about 2000m, and many people come to enjoy the outdoors and activities throughout the year. In particular, the quality of snow in Shiga Kogen is known worldwide as high-quality powder snow, so many foreigners have come to Japan in recent years to see the snow.
• Jigokudani Yaen-Koen * Winter only

  It is a natural park where many monkeys live at an altitude of 850 m. There are hot springs in the park, and many Japanese macaques come to bathe in the winter. Since the scene is rare in the world, it is visited by many tourists and researchers from all over the world as well as the local citizens.
